This is our story

Hello HR & Recruitment began with a simple intention. I wanted to create something real, built on relationships and practical support. I’m Kristen, and after years in the corporate world, I realised I wanted the freedom to make decisions that felt right and to build fresh solutions for every business, not follow a script.

I’ve always felt most at home working with small and medium businesses. These are the places where people jump in, figure things out, and care deeply about what they’re building. I saw a need for HR and recruitment support that fits that world — honest, responsive, and built on trust.

So I stepped away from corporate and started Hello. A business that listens first, keeps things simple, and puts people at the centre. This is the work I love, and the kind of support I believe makes a real difference.

Kristen's background combines experience in HR management and strategic roles within the recruitment agency environment. With a Bachelor of Applied Management majoring in HR and certifications in strategic leadership and sales, Kristen is well-equipped to navigate the complexities of talent acquisition and organisational development. 

Throughout her career, Kristen has demonstrated a remarkable ability to lead with excellence. She has led multiple branches to success, exceeding business targets and driving substantial growth across key accounts. 

When she's not immersed in her professional endeavours, Kristen cherishes every moment spent creating memories with her loved ones. Whether it's getting outdoors, or simply enjoying quality time together at home, Kristen values spending time with her husband and four children.

One of Kristen's favourite pastimes is being out on the water, especially heading out to game fish, mooring up in a little bay around the Coromandel and breathing in the fresh, sea air. 

For Kristen, balancing her bustling career with her family life is not just a necessity but a source of happiness.  She believes in living life to the fullest, embracing every moment with enthusiasm, and valuing the moments shared with those closest to her.

With over a decade of recruitment experience, Ash has worked across agency roles, internal talent acquisition, and most recently, at Trade Me Jobs. There, he partnered with businesses of all sizes to boost their recruitment through advertising, employer branding, and better processes.

People are at the heart of everything Ash does. His passion for recruitment and knack for building strong relationships have earned him a huge local network and long-standing client partnerships. He loves working with businesses that put their people first and want to attract top talent.

Originally from Essex, Ash moved to New Zealand in 2013 - he left the UK behind but kept the accent.

Outside work, Ash is all about family. He’s a devoted dad to George and a proud partner to Casey. He’s also a loyal (and often heartbroken) Arsenal fan, a Central Otago Pinot Noir convert, and a regular at the gym to counteract both.

And if he’s not at work or with family? He’s probably off getting bruised at Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and yes, he’ll absolutely tell you about it.

With ten years recruitment experience, Rose has worked in various top leading recruitment agencies across NZ, specialising in white and blue-collar roles focusing on permanent recruitment, temporary and fixed term contract assignments. Her experience in staffing ranges from Manufacturing, Warehousing, Trades and Administration industries.

Coming to Hello HR & Recruitment as a Client Solutions Manager, Rose will be focusing on finding temporary staffing solutions for our clients.  Her passion and love for meeting new people from all walks of life is what drives her, and her strong organisation skills, ability to prioritise workloads and ability to creatively find the best solution for her clients why she loves what she does!

With a warm sense of humour, Rose ensures that she enjoys every day.  

With the goal of providing exceptional customer service, her commitment to you is simple: go above and beyond expectations to deliver you the best possible outcome and make the whole process as stress free and most importantly - enjoyable!

I have the pleasure of working with Hello HR & Recruitment as a contractor. Kristen is all about what works for her team and clients, so I have the flexibility to work the hours that suit me, deliver results, and still make time for life outside of work.

With over a decade of agency recruitment experience, I’ve worked across high-volume temp roles, bulk interviews, and specialist permanent placements. Recruitment is about more than filling jobs – it’s about finding the right people for the right teams, where they’ll thrive. Quality always comes first.

I’ve held leadership roles including NZ-wide Sales Manager and Branch Manager, where I coached teams, managed compliance and budgets, and consistently delivered strong results. I’ve led teams of 10 to 100 and know what it takes to build loyal, high-performing cultures. Throughout my career, I’ve been recognised for both results and leadership, earning accolades for my contribution to team performance and business growth.

I’m people-first in my approach, whether it’s mentoring new consultants or helping clients grow their teams with confidence.  When people feel good, they do great things – and that’s exactly what I aim to bring to every business I support.

Outside of work, I’m a proud mum of two adult kids, a fan of good food, great company, and seeing the world with my husband. I value relationships, resilience, and just the right amount of healthy competition.
